OUR STORY
Hello! We are Gregg and Brandon. We are grateful you came to read our story and learn about us as possible adoptive parents.
We met at a show tunes karaoke event, the first week after the New Year in 2013. Brandon made a resolution to meet new people, and Gregg made a resolution to break out of his routine. We continued to catch each other’s attention throughout the night before Brandon came over to introduce himself to Gregg, and Gregg won him over with his sense of humor. Our relationship grew from that day, and has led us on many adventures! We were married in 2018.
...ABOUT GREGG
I grew up in New York with my parents and older brother. Eventually, my grandmother moved in after my grandfather passed. My paternal grandmother lived a few blocks away, and we often hosted our large family of aunts, uncles, and cousins at her home! Growing up, I enjoyed learning and exploring. Living in NYC allowed me to visit many museums and cultural events, something I would love to share with a child.
I attended school in New York and wanted to be a lawyer. I majored as a pre-law student in Anthropology with a minor in history; my two first loves (as a child, I wanted to be...
ABOUT BRANDON
I grew up in a small town in southern Georgia with my parents and older brother. My entire family, on both sides, lived within 15-miles of one another. I attended college not very far from home and earned my bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a minor in Art History. Though I enjoy the aspects of small-town living and visit often, I wouldn’t trade living outside Washington DC for anything! I have worked at a large home improvement retailer since 2004, where I design and help customers with their remodeling projects.
Traveling, exploring Virginia, and going into...
OUR HOME
We purchased our home in 2015. It is a charming colonial home in an established family neighborhood just outside of Washington DC, with great neighbors that have become some of our closest friends. We can see our local elementary school from our front door. Our neighborhood has an annual block party that Brandon helps organize, and which we use our front yard to play yard games. Our home has a pool and a screened-in porch that our cat, Raja, loves to spend time watching birds. We have a fenced-in backyard with plenty of room for a swing set and sandbox for a child to play...
OUR FAMILY
We consider ourselves fortunate to come from an extremely diverse and supportive family. Whether it’s for birthdays, holidays, or no reason at all, we take every opportunity to gather with our loved ones. While we have a physical distance between our families, we’re also able to connect regularly with video calls on Alexa—Gregg usually talks to his parents twice a day, once at lunch and usually after dinner!
Brandon’s family lives almost entirely in southern Georgia. He has a niece and nephew that we’re able to see over Alexa, and on trips down every...
OUR HOBBIES AND TRADITIONS
Traditions are important to us as a family. It's easy to get caught up in our lives and forget to make time for special occasions, so we take every opportunity we can find to make an occasion special. Our traditions usually center on three things: food, family, and a lot of unstructured time just enjoying each other's company.
We love family traditions and have both carried some forward from our families growing up, as well as have created our own within our family. We love the idea of our child carrying forward traditions from our individual families, and those traditions we...
IN CONCLUSION
Thank you for taking the time to look at our profile and considering us as parents for your baby. We have wanted so much, and for so long, to be dads. It’s hard for us to believe it is this close to being true, with your help.
We both come from close-knit and supportive families. Our families are, without exception, wholeheartedly enthusiastic about our decision to further grow the family through adoption. A future child in our home will have the benefit of devoted, warm, and creative grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Our neighborhood is a culturally diverse and...
